Karen started her first business at age 12 by saving her allowance and doing odd jobs for neighbors. She began going door to door selling decorative air freshers in the neighborhood. When she sold out of product in one day a mini-entrepreneur was born. She began teaching other children in the neighborhood how to start a business, save money, and invest it back into their business or start a new one. This gave her a sense of control when everything around her was falling apart. Her life had not been easy and finding ways to overcome childhood and adult tragedies took a toll on her physically, mentally, spiritually. Through it all, she believes God allowed those hardships to come to her so she could be in a position to teach other women that they can rise through the ashes and have dominion over their lives.
